- Select birds (species):
- All the buttons except for the Reset button open menus on which bird species or groups of bird species can be chosen.
- Each button and tab shows the number of selected items in parentheses.
- By default, all species (335 total) and groups of species are selected.
- Deselecting a species group will automatically narrow the list of bird species.
- A few of the menus contain sub-menus, which can be opened or closed by clicking on the arrow button.
- Select locations (ecodistricts):
- All the buttons except for the Reset button open menus on which ecodistricts or groups of ecodistricts can be chosen.
- Each button and tab shows the number of selected items in parentheses.
- By default, all ecodistricts (1021 total) and groups of ecodistricts are selected.
- Deselecting an ecodistrict group will narrow the list of ecodistricts and reduce the number of ecodistricts displayed on the map.
- A few of the menus contain sub-menus, which can be opened or closed by clicking on the arrow button.
- Clicking an ecodistrict on the map will select or deselect it.
- Configure the calendar:
- Adding a title to the calendar is optional.
- The drop-down menus let you choose what information to show on each row of the calendar and the order in which they should be sorted.
- The remaining controls let you configure how the calendar is drawn without affecting the data being displayed.
- Try switching back and forth between this tab and the View Calendar tab whenever you change the configuration.
- View the calendar:
- The calendar can be saved in two ways:
- By right-clicking on the calendar and choosing Save image as... or Save picture as... (but some browsers won't provide this option, e.g. Internet Explorer 9).
- By using the Save the calendar as a PNG button located below the calendar, which will open a new tab or window with an image which you will be able to right-click to save.
